The Butterflies...

Seems like all it takes is one hot day in late September and one of the pupas will hatch, thinking it's April or May. I hope this one finds a mate at this late date.

Relaxing outside on a blackberry leaf, about to embark on the aerial portion of life's journey.

The coloration on the wings is spectacular. The colors look as if they have been dusted on. Each spot of color is pixel-like, a tiny pigmented scale.
